Sushi Tetsu

About this place
Universally regarded as the best sushi in London. This tiny 7-seat counter is run by husband-and-wife team Toru and Harumi Takahashi (Toru is an ex-Nobu sushi master). The intimate, conversational atmosphere and extraordinary otoro have earned it a cult following — one Reddit user called it "second only to Sushi Matsumoto in Kyoto." Switched from a la carte to omakase-only format. Strict no photography or video policy.
Why it's on this list
~£187pp (£167 Saturday lunch). Phone-only booking: 020 3217 0090, Mondays 11am-2pm for the following week. Can only book once per month. One of the hardest reservations in London.

A theatrical, interactive 3-hour experience at a 200-year-old hinoki wood counter where sushi is passed directly from chef's hands to yours. Described by Redditors as "the pinnacle of sushi in London." Currently operating a pop-up at Annabel's in Mayfair (Feb–Jul 2026) following a fire at the original location.
