Practice on world-class Steinway grand pianos at the iconic Steinway Hall, which has been a fixture on Marylebone Lane since 1878. Two studios are available: Studio 1 with a Model C Grand and Model V upright, and Studio 2 with a Model B Grand. A prestigious and inspiring setting for serious pianists. Eight purpose-built, air-conditioned practice studios run by the historic German piano maker Blüthner (est. 1853). Choose from upright or grand pianos — one studio even houses two grands, ideal for duets or teacher-student sessions. All rooms are soundproof and come with a music stand and complimentary Wi-Fi. Conveniently located just off Baker Street.

Described as having some of the quietest and best-stocked practice rooms in London, Peregrine's attracts musicians from around the globe. Three sound-insulated, air-controlled rooms: a small room for solo practice and warm-ups, a medium room for chamber music and exams, and a large room for rehearsals (up to 20 musicians) or masterclasses (up to 50 people). Also a piano showroom, so you're surrounded by beautiful instruments.

Seven Steinway-equipped practice rooms beneath one of London's most storied music shops, which has occupied 48 Great Marlborough Street since 1908. Rooms feature Essex upright pianos, Boston baby grands, and Yamaha digital pianos. Located in the heart of Soho, steps from Carnaby Street — perfect for combining practice with a browse through their extensive sheet music collection upstairs.

A community arts centre in the heart of Blackheath offering affordable piano practice room hire. Two music rooms with pianos are available, ideal for practice, ensemble rehearsals, or meetings. A great option for South East London pianists who don't want to trek into central London.

A community music school offering a professionally maintained Kawai BS-3A upright piano in their Vanbrugh Studio. The room features acoustic treatment for an optimal practice environment, natural light, guitar amp, chairs, and music stands. Fresh filtered air is supplied through a mechanical ventilation system. A welcoming, affordable spot for South East London musicians.

London's most famous public pianos, located inside the grand St Pancras International station. Currently features the Kawai K-500 'St. Pancras Piano' (unveiled July 2025) in the main Arcade near International Departures, and the 'Phantom Piano' donated by Andrew Lloyd Webber Musicals (2024) by International Arrivals. Elton John's original Yamaha — inscribed "Enjoy this piano. It's a gift. Love, Elton John" — was sent to Yamaha for restoration in 2025. Everyone from Alicia Keys to Jeff Goldblum has played here.

A 'people's piano' inside the spectacular Turbine Hall B of the redeveloped Battersea Power Station. Play surrounded by the industrial grandeur of the iconic building's soaring interior. Featured on Channel 4's 'The Piano at Christmas' special. A truly unique setting for a quick play.

A colourful street piano in the underpass next to Herne Hill Railway Station, just off Railton Road. Originally placed in 2012 as part of Luke Jerram's 'Play Me, I'm Yours' campaign, it's one of only a handful of the original 50 street pianos still standing in London. Maintained and tuned by community volunteers with support from Herne Hill Forum. The constantly changing piano stools add to the charm.

A public piano at Lewisham station, free for anyone to play while waiting for a train. A popular spot with regular visitors — you'll often hear someone playing as you pass through this busy South East London interchange.

Believed to be the world's first open-access railway station pipe organ. 'Henry' is a Victorian one-manual, eight-stop organ with pedals, originally built by Henry Jones around 1880 for Christ Church at Whetstone. Rehomed at London Bridge station in 2022 by the Pipe Up for Pipe Organs charity. Located at the southern end of the lower Network Rail concourse near Stainer Street. Anyone can walk up and play — no booking required.
